Well he really doesn't listen to NOTHING now... really. I mean maybe in the car on the way to/from work but that's a short drive. LOL I don't know what he listened to as a child- but clearly he wasn't beebopping to J5 like I was. During the Thriller/Bad days though he was pretty much into heavy metal... hard rock/heavy metal/whatever you call that stuff. LOL I think Dylan was probably the only one he gave a hoot about in the We Are the World group.. I think. LOL

Thanks. I hope new marriages can make it as long as we have- and hope we make it as long as some others (like till death do we part) It was hard work to make it to 20yrs though..... on my part.

Thank you for standing up Zip. I appreciate there are others out there upset too and just want the right thing... that's all. Will have more time and energy to post tomorrow so sneaking this in. Add this headscratcher to the list:

August 15th: 50% Pre-order special at $165 (retail $330) Sept 30th and extended to Oct 27th, "*Price valid only until October 27th 2009, £218/$330/€260 thereafter. Shipping and handling extra."

Now the retail sits at $249 ($225 @TM and B&N) and I have never seen it above that price other than during the pre-order timeframe. So does that mean we should have only paid $124.50 and not $165? $40.50 difference is not something to sneeze at.

I raised the B&N issue with Opus in my email Saturday(that still has not been replied to) B&N price was ironically close to 50% of $249 and since B&N doesn't charge shipping for sales over a certain amount, maybe the TEN dollar difference was to cover some of the weight of MJ's Opus-most shipments don't weigh 31 lbs. What happened Monday? B&N changed their website 3 times and raised the price to $162/146 member (then $249/224.99 for members, then $224.99 for all for a limited time).

While B&N or Opus is claiming they did not sell one, I think that might be wrong. I swear I saw someone say they purchased at that price.

Then today seeing some of the fans Opus' arrived damaged -- 5 torn pages, scuffed, etc and 3 separate attempts to reach Opus with no reply.

Honestly, what are we supposed to think? Off to bed. G'night everyone!

BTW. My Opus arrived today. I opened it and inspected it for damages, put it back in the box and under the tree. I'm not opening mine till others get theirs. Just doesn't seem right *for me*.

I found this site after doing some research about the Opus. Forgive me because I had no idea it was coming out! I actually found out about it through MJs facebook page last week. After doing some online searching for an 30 mins I ended up ordering 2 copies through B&N.

Now while I dont think its "fair" for people who paid for one recently to get theirs before all you who put down payments months ago, I just wanted to share my experience.

My mother who is the same age as MJ is a huge fan, she grew up "with" him. After finding out about the opus I thought it was PERFECT for her for a xmas gift. After seeing it at B&N last week with a ship date of 12/21 and free 3 day shipping I thought I know something will happen and it wont show up in time, but what the hell.

So I ordered one for her and one for me. I immediately get a confirmation email of my order followed by a 2nd say my order is ready to ship on the 21st. This past weekend I even went to a local B&N to inquire about it. The lady told me that they wont be store stocking it and it looked like B&N places the order for them when they are ordered online. She was very suprised to see the price of $135.

After checking my email what had to be 20 times yesterday for a confirmation email that it shipped I got nothing.

This morning I woke up to a 3rd email. It stated -

We want to give you an update about the pre-ordered item(s) listed below. Unfortunately, we just got word that the release date for this item(s) has been changed. We expect to ship the item(s) soon and will email you when it is ready to leave our warehouse. If we cannot acquire the item(s) within 30 days, we will notify you by email. However, if you would like to cancel this portion of your order, you may do so online at: http://www.bn.com/orderstatus. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay. -- Barnes & Noble

I figured as much. This is THE gift I want to give my mother, so I will have to give her a late xmas gift. As cheezy as it sounds a card and a print out of "what is coming" will have to do for now.

I just wanted to share my story. I hope all who have been waiting for months receive theirs soon! I also wanted to let people know that I think anyone who ordered through B&N will be waiting a while. What I do hope is they follow through on their price. My card was charged already. If they pull a "we cant sell it to you for that price" email I will be livid and calls will be made.

I've not been charged. I'd raise holy HELL if BN thought they were gonna charge my card for something they haven't even shipped to me and had no plans to ship until January... and according to the Opus ppl it's looking like they won't have any to ship at all! So yeah..... that's strange.

My Opus was sent from the local depot at 7:31am, it is now 9:33am - the depot is a 30 minute drive away. They're driving me crazy man!
