So I dunno if this has been brought up here or not, so if it has please merge the threads (mods?). And even though this is news it also involves a download... so er, I dunno whether it should go here or in the media section.

I came across this link and checked it out: http://community.livejournal.com/____mjfans____/507992.html#cutid1

"Rapper Rhymefest makes a remix album dedicated to Michael Jackson"

So I read the article and went and downloaded the album (which is FREE) by Rhymefest, produced by Mark Ronson. And I just gotta say - these tracks are DOPE *_*. It's clearly a product of love and all the sampling is done really well. It flows & it's just fun. There are some skits which involve a little teasing but it's clearly all good-natured. Mind you the album doesn't have the MJ sound, but I think the album is still very Michael (& Jackson 5!) without being completely Michael too, ya know? It's probably some of the best you can expect for a full rap/hip-hop dedication album, I think. Here are more direct links:

The linked article (which I don't agree about on some parts, but oh well)

The MySpace Blog articles of Rhymefest & Mark Ronson that are about the album:

To see more, just go to Rhymefest's MySpace. I actually hope he does get to meet MJ cuz I think they did some really interesting stuff on this album. I mean, it's not for profit and all for love. And I think MJ might actually like some of the stuff too. I don't know if any collaboration would come out of it or if anything would actually make an album, but it'd be nice for them to talk nonetheless. Michael's so musically talented & yet I think it never hurts & can still be beneficial to check out what other producers & artists have to say. Especially if they're big fans & want to respect his work :D.

So I'm posting to contribute to making some "noise" for the album. Share if you like it, and let me know what y'all think!

Is no one gonna check this album out? That's too bad, considering it's a completely free download. Check it out guys - it's worth at least one straight listen-thru, if not many!

Oh yay! I'm glad you love it too Damien! I wish it got some radio play cuz I think it would be a great way to reach younger hip-hop/rap-oriented audiences.

What are you favored remixes from it?

Wow, I'm listening to it right now, very cool! I wish Mike had actually been a part of the project (or at least given permission to use his music), but I'm liking it so far :-)

Thanx for posting it!!!!!! :)

So I heard the whole thing last night, and just wanted to say, I thought it was really very good, very funny and clever (especially when they're both talking), and I really liked the choices of songs he used.

I could've done with a little less swearing (I know, I know, it seems to be mandatory with hip-hop these days) but other than that I really totally enjoyed it, thanks for sharing!! :)
