Jackson Considers Selling Neverland
By JOHN ROGERS – 2 hours ago
LOS ANGELES (AP) — There could be a new owner riding the merry-go-round at Michael Jackson's fabled Neverland Ranch this summer.
A public auction of the 2,500-acre spread in central California's wine country had been scheduled for next week after Jackson went into default on the $24.5 million he owes on the property. However, the auction was postponed until May 14 by "mutual agreement" of Jackson and his creditors, said Julie Wagner of Financial Title Co. of San Francisco, the firm that filed the default papers.
"That allows us to refinance or sell the property," Jackson's attorney, L. Londell McMillan, told The Associated on Friday. He added that Jackson is looking at both options.
"We expect to have this matter resolved well before May 14," McMillan said. The extended date was first reported on Foxnews.com.
----------------------------------------------------
The property is still listed at Priority Posting (http://www.priorityposting.com/ppp/viewauctions.asp?TSNumber=45778JW&FromAdvanced=N&MainSearch=Search), as being postponed for auction till May 14th.
Maybe he will sell it?
EssenceOfMagic 15th March 2008, 04:48 AM Oh thanks for this. Hmmm, he might sell. He hasn't been there in years anyway. Still sad though...what did he say in Private Home Movies?...ah yes "I will never sell Neverland, Neverland is me"

He did say that, yes, but after or during the trial he said something to the effect of 'I will never live at Neverland again- it's a house I will visit, not a home"
But it would be better for him to sell it himself, than having all this negative media attention because "Michael can't pay his bills"...

:iagree: Marni. I just want him to be happy.
arielaguire 15th March 2008, 07:40 AM :no1: I wish he decided to keep it...but at least it's his desicion :)
Tony R 15th March 2008, 10:27 AM I agree he should sell it (if he wants).
He needs to get rid of anything with negative connotations to the past. This will help him both personally and professionally.
The_Glove 15th March 2008, 11:26 AM I hope he sells. ;)
Pompous Git 15th March 2008, 11:55 AM He'll sell at a loss if he does. Not much gain after shelling out $17million in 1988 and any profit he might have will be eaten up by other things.

If selling Neverland makes him happy, why not? (Although I always thought Neverland makes a very good MJ museum.)
Pompous Git 15th March 2008, 03:29 PM ^^^There is an MJ MUseum at Neverland - it's on the tourist map. :)
lonniehunnie 15th March 2008, 03:36 PM I hope he does sell it in some ways, I think it would be a good way to move forward and let go of the past. He'll always have his good memories of the house.
kriminal 16th March 2008, 05:52 PM With all the speculation going on i think the media are messing with our head ere.....its been reported that neverland auction has been set back to may 2008 and the county are saying no deal has been made....
Pompous Git 16th March 2008, 06:33 PM Michael's lawyer has been quoted and said Michael is looking at both options of either refinacing or selling Neverland himself. But the public auction has by all accounts been posponed until May 19th.
SB County is separate to this as any agreement is between MJ and Fortress.

There is a statement on the first page of this thread that will tell you what exactly is happening with Neverland. ;)
x0xMichael/Jacksonx0x 23rd April 2008, 07:41 AM Man, whatever he does, I hope that no hoaxes get involved or that he thinks things thoroughly..but that is just what I now currently think on this. :/

Don't u know what my dad said the same thing, he said to me don't u know what he should do, he sould turn neverland into a
museum and let people come and visit and see all his achivement etc.. just like they did with elivs home gacelands .
outsiderinsider 23rd April 2008, 05:09 PM you cannot just open up houses as museums you have to get licences from the county just like you cant just open it to the public to make money. Some forget that this is SB county and those in control would never grant licences to MJ to do anything. At the end of the day. MJ should have never let it get this far but sadly it seems like many things that he sticks his head in the sand until it gets to breaking point. sadly this time he may have left it till late and another part of his legacy will be torn up. and sneddon and co will get exactly what they want without even having to bother with tax liens etc sadly MJ gives these people exaclty what they want time and time again. its a shame his kids dont have someone stable to grow up rather than hotel rooms and house rentals for 6 months here or there.
The_Glove 23rd April 2008, 05:12 PM Good, i hope he sells it.
outsiderinsider 23rd April 2008, 05:17 PM he will likely not even get enough to pay off the debt if he sells it now. its the worst possible time to be in the situation mj is in. come may 14th we will know one way or the other.if its goes on the market it will have to be before then. unfortunalty as normal things gets left till it is to late and decisions have to made on the spare of the moment regardless of whether you have decided what to do or not.
Minimj 23rd April 2008, 07:56 PM I myself dont think he will return becsuse i think he has had too many bad times but theres a lot of good times

 Sneddon and co WILL get exactly what they want?? You ALREADY KNOW the outcome? And, what do you mean it's ashame his kids don't have somewhere stable to grow up rather than hotel rooms and house rentals for 6 months here and there? As far as his children are concerned, only he knows what's best for them! :) From what we've heard and that's from people who've met and spoken with the children--they're not suffering in any way! :no2: They're well adjusted children! Some children have stable homes to live in but they're far from happy! At least Michael's children feel loved and know their dad wants to be with them as much as they want to be with him, even if it does mean staying in Hotel rooms and rental houses for a 6 month period--they're together and that's all that really matters! :)
Mysti!

please read my full sentence.
yes his kids are lovely cuties but as i said its a shame they dont have structure interms of having one place that they can call home rather than living out of hotels and rentals. as Mj said years back.when he took his kids to the ranch they thought it was just another hotel they didnt realise it was their home (as it was back then) its shame it was all runied by such evil doers
some excellent news

Michaholic 11th May 2008, 01:59 AM WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
MYRMW 11th May 2008, 03:14 AM What ever Michael decides I will support I just want him to be happy! Its no point him holding onto it.
Michael can then move on to a brighter future. As to the PHM statement Yes Neverland is Michael but where ever Michael goes there Neverland will be, Neverland is in Michael's heart and that they can never invade, raid or take away from him.

what does this means? he didnt sell it??? yay:wild::wild:
It means it won't go to auction to recover the money he owed for it, and he and either lenders or lawyers have come to a financial or contractual agreement.
ILLBETHERE 11th May 2008, 05:18 AM oh okay thank you Marni!
Amanda-x 11th May 2008, 06:50 AM Um, okay. So I`m lost in this thread?

Maybe he will sell it?
The easiest way to explain this:
Michael had been in default of a loan on the property according to papers filed at Santa Barbara County Courthouse in October 2007. Raymone Bain made a statement at that time saying that MJ was never in default of the loan and they were currently refinancing:
November 07, 2007
Washington, D.C.
In 2006, Mr. Jackson’s former advisors refinanced Neverland Valley Ranch through Fortress Investment Group, LLC.
The loan matured in October, 2007.
Contrary to published reports, Mr. Jackson was never in default of the loan. Mr. Jackson is in the final stages of refinance and will not lose Neverland Valley Ranch.
No further comments will be made regarding this subject as it has been our long term policy not to address Mr. Jackson’s personal financial affairs.
Raymone K. Bain
However, it appears as though nothing was done in the time, or no agreement had been reached between November 2007 and Feb 2008, as the media got more papers that said Neverland was set for auction on March 19th.
On March 14th came a statement from Mj's lawyers saying they had reached an agreement and "MJ and Neverland are fine" The following day, Mj's lawyers made another statement (shown above) saying that the auction was postponed until May 14th and in that time they were going to work it out.
Then on May 9th, Tax liens on Neverland were paid and the auction set for May 14th was cancelled. No statement has been made by Mj's camp at this time, but the documentation is enough to say that there has been either refinancing or some kind of other confidential agreement. In any case, Neverland HAS been saved and hopefully we will not be hearing about Neverland in forclosure again.
I hope that makes sense. :)
mikejoejacklover58 11th May 2008, 09:02 AM Omg yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! :wild: :wild: :wild: :D
The_Glove 11th May 2008, 10:15 AM Oh well! Wished he got rid of it.
But cool cool
Joel Jackson 11th May 2008, 05:59 PM Oh well! Wished he got rid of it.
But cool cool
He may still decide to get rid of neverland at a future date I guess. Even though he has decided to re-finance he may have just been in limbo over what to do with the property and it wouldn't suprise me if in the next few years Michael decides to sell up.
outsiderinsider 11th May 2008, 08:01 PM everyone knows now is not the time to try and sell expensive property. credit crunch anyone
Minimj 11th May 2008, 08:12 PM ok fanx for the info Marni!
MYRMW 12th May 2008, 01:44 AM well I'm happy for him either way, as long as Michael is happy thats my only concern. What ever he decides I will support and stand by him all the way
