The $38 million Holmby Hils pad has seven bedrooms, 13 baths, 12 fireplaces, a screening room, there's a guest house, swimming pool and garden.

The deal was inked several weeks ago under a heavy-duty confidentiality agreement.

Is Michael Jackson on the Move?
According to the good folks at gossip juggernaut TMZ, fallen pop music icon Michael Jackson recently leased a humongous house in the posh Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles for a staggering $100,000 per month.

According to property records, the lavish and exuberantly decorated pile on N. Carolwood Drive is owned by Roxanne Guez who is (or was, we don't know) married to Hubert Guez, a somewhat controversial bizness man who made his millions manufacturing apparel in Mexico for all sorts of recognizable mass market brands. Mister Guez now serves as the CEO of a coterie of clothing brands including Ed Hardy and Christian Audiger.

Listing information we ferreted out shows the 3- story Richard Landry designed "French Chateau" style estate was built in 2002, measures in at a whopping 17,171 square feet and includes 7 bedrooms and an unlucky 13 terlits. Until sometime last week, the fit for a Saudi royal property was listed for sale with a blistering asking price of $38,000,000.

Other amenities of the gated and heavily fortified estate include subterranean garaging, 12 fireplaces, an impress-the-guests style entrance hall with a curving staircase, formal living and dining rooms, a wood paneled den with adjoining library, a theater room, a gore-may kitchen with eating area, family room and, of course, a wine cellar where The White Lady can store his rare collection of Julio and Gallo "Jesus Juice."

The 1.26 acre property includes a heated swimming pool (which we can't imagine Mister Jackson can use due to his various skin conditions) and an adjacent guest house for whatever handlers, minders and sycophants he still has on his payroll.

Of course, Your Mama don't know nuthin' about nuthin' but what we do know is that according to information we received, the house in question was indeed leased for $100,000 per month. But as of early this a.m. we're just not sure if it was (or was not) leased to Mister Jackson.

Although Mister Jackson has leased houses in Los Angeles in the past, including a big tacky thing up on Shadow Hill Way, Your Mama can't imagine why Mister Jackson would leave his relatively incognito digs in Las Vegas and come to Los Angeles, land of marauding paparazzi, can you?

For me (probably because of what I have been through personally) a house has become just a house. One's got to live somewhere. With Michael Jackson, though, some extra factors I would think need to be considered...like it needing to be highly private and secure.

Wherever he lands, I hope he is blessed with something that is suitable and enjoyable for he and his children...a home where they can live contentedly together in peace and with many joyous family times.

Hopefully his steps are being ordered and he will end up in just the right home for them for this season of time in their lives. :)

I hope you guys have noticed that the article says they're not sure if this place was leased to Michael Jackson after all. :hmm:

This is ironic anyway...Sycamore was bought for $17 million in 1988 and renamed to Neverland Valley. The media has been saying MJ is broke since the trial with incredible intensity - far more intense than they claimed in 1985. He sells NL to Sycamore Valley Ranch, LLC, for $35million apparently then leases this place at a cost of $100,000 a month allegedly.

I guess the media are now saying Jackson is a rich bugger if they're reporting this. Pinch of salt.

Marni

Neverland is no more and he's selling a lot of the contents, including the entrance gates at auction. no one's 100% on whether MJ owns a stake in Neverland anymore- the registrant of Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC traces back to Colony Capital. :)

I don't think MK will be allowed to keep animals around the house. Holmby Hills is a gated community with strict rules. Even landscaping is supposed to be maintained according to community rules. New info with quotes from MJ's spokesperson:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/laland/2009/01/quess-who-is-le.html

Michael Jackson is leasing for $100,000 a month

Although it’s unlikely that a Ferris wheel will sprout on the lawn or an exotic animal wander down Sunset, perhaps it’s time for community vigilance: Michael Jackson is back in town.

The Bel-Air mansion that he has leased for $100,000 a month is no Neverland, but the Gloved One is making do. According to Tohme Tohme, Jackson’s manager-spokesman, the pop icon moved back to Los Angeles to be closer to "where all the action is" in the entertainment industry.

The gated estate that Jackson is leasing was one of the most expensive L.A. homes offered for sale last year. It was taken off the market after Jackson signed a one-year lease.

Tohme suggested that Jackson might use the time to "build his own dream house." (Wasn’t Neverland his dream house?)

So for now, Jackson will be hanging his surgical mask in a French Chateau-style estate that was built in 2002 with all the bells and whistles that architect Richard Landry could conceive. It’s a voluminous 17,000-square-foot place that shouts Old World elegance at you -- not exactly what one might envision for the fun-loving Jackson.

The house has seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater. There is a multi-story grand entry, parquet hardwood floors, elaborate wrought-iron railings, a formal dining room worthy of entertaining his Dubai royalty friends, and a wood-paneled den-library with coffered ceilings. There’s a butler’s pantry off the state-of-the-art kitchen, and a wine cellar and tasting room. The pool area is quite stunning as well, although given that Jackson doesn’t allow sun to touch him, it may be under-utilized.

Jackson, who can’t stay out of the public eye no matter how hard he doesn’t try, was photographed on New Year's Eve wearing his pajamas in a Santa Monica bookstore as he browsed among the racks. He was shielded by a black umbrella and sported dark glasses and a face mask. Surprise, surprise -- he was recognized anyway.

Unofficial biographer Ian Halperin claimed last month that Jackson was suffering from a life-threatening lung ailment and might be seeking medical treatment at a major U.S. hospital. The Jackson camp denied all such allegations, dismissing them as a publicity stunt to help boost sales of Halperin’s books. Spokesman Tohme says Jackson is well and weighing various entertainment projects.

Gone from the picture for now is the 120-acre estate in the hills outside Santa Barbara that Jackson called home for years. The Neverland Ranch featured a zoo, roller coaster, game arcades and a Ferris wheel, but it fell into disrepair after Jackson left the country for Bahrain following his acquittal on child molestation charges in 2005.

The compound hovered on the brink of foreclosure for an Ed McMahon-like eternity. In November, it was reported that Jackson surrendered title to the Neverland Ranch to the Sycamore Valley Ranch Co. -- a joint venture between Jackson and an affiliate of Colony Capital LLC.

And soon to be gone for good is Jackson’s glittery glove. The trademark glove, along with the Neverland Ranch gates and more than 2,000 other personal items, are scheduled to be auctioned in Beverly Hills in April by Julien’s Auctions.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28528945/

Michael Jackson is living in Los Angeles.

The singing superstar has taken a lease on a Bel Air mansion, his manager-spokesperson Dr. Tohme Tohme confirmed to The Los Angeles Times.
Jackson reportedly wanted the property so he could be “where all the action is,” his manager told the paper

Built in 2002, the home is a French chateau-style estate with seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a theatre, wine cellar and tasting room and 12 fireplaces, according to the Times. Jackson is paying $100,000 a month for the lease, which has been signed for one year, the paper reported. But don’t expect Jackson to stay in the Bel Air home forever.

“He might want to build his own dream house,” Tohme said. “Although the real estate market isn’t very good right now.”

Thanks for the update Marni!
$100,000 a month, eh? Wow!

The house has seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater.

Never really got having more than 2 or 3 bathrooms,
but to each his own. Opulence has no boundaries I guess.
Nothing like having endless options on where to take a leak :hmm:.
The house is absolutely gorgeous and I am really happy for
Michael. I hope that he's able to have the same feelings for
this place as he did for Neverland.

Loves it!

Pop royal Michael Jackson has apparently given up on plans for jump-starting his career with a permanent show here in Las Vegas. He’s moved out of town, and overnight reports from Los Angeles say he’s leased a Bel Air gated estate for at least 12 months. The whopping annual rental of $1.2 million gives him a mansion in the style of a French chateau and comes with 12 fireplaces, 13 bathrooms, a wine cellar and tasting room, a theater and seven bedrooms -- just about the perfect size for Michael and his three kids!

And this:

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hZNgbrgnco68wdSY5q0bFdgp2MYgD95IL2280

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The King of Pop is back — in town, that is.

Michael Jackson has signed a yearlong lease on a mansion in the swanky Bel Air area of the city, a spokesman for the singer said Wednesday.

Jackson has been staying in the estate for about a month, said spokesman Tohme Tohme, who called the property "a little bit more than an average home."

The lease agreement, first reported Monday by the Los Angeles Times, is for $100,000 a month. The home has seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and 12 fireplaces.

Jackson, 50, relocated to the city with his three children to be closer to Hollywood and the entertainment industry, said Tohme, promising that "the second half (of his career) will be better than the first."

"Hubert Guez has a brother, Paul, who ran a massive textile company with him. Paul has a son, Danny, who started a clothing line with Justin Timberlake, called William Rast." Well there you go

Anyway, it's a nice house! I'm sure Michael and the kids have had fun there! I wonder if they'll lease it again when they're back after the shows.

Was known to be "The Hardest Working Man in Showbusiness"
now is Michael's turn to don that mantle. As such, it is only worth for him to rest and live in a house that fits him well.:thismuch:

Definately I love the house! It is not Neverland of course, but it fits Michael's taste completely, he likes this kind of royal style. The furniture is amazing!
