Hello fellow MaxJaxers,

Earlier this afternoon we were hacked by a hacker known as reDMin. You may or may not have noticed that the splash page was replaced with a short but "sweet" message by the hacker.

We have done all in our power to restore Maximum Jackson to it's original state. The splash page is back and the forums are now back. If you notice anything unusual at all, please either report in this thread or send an email directly to admin@maximum-jackson.com

We are really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

-Team MaxJax

What did the splash message say?
All I got was something saying the database was down..

I'll keep my eyes open for anything out of the ordinary.

Luckily, the database was not breached - they simply replaced a few files within our core web directory to display that message.

Everything was taken down in the process of protecting us against any further attacks.

Everything should be fine now!

Thank you all.

So basically, this hacker found the hole in our death star, but he only threw a silly note down there, not a bomb?

Cut the guy some slack! The hole is only 2 metres wide, that's impossible even for a computer!

^^^

I think we should cut the guy some slack because he is clearly a sad ******* who has nothing better to do.

Indeed he is. But it's all sorted now, thanks to our Greg and Dan. *cheers*

But everyone - if you spot anything that looks suspicious, please let us know.

Thanks! :)

Yes, I was aware...

And then I took your metaphore and used the first few words you used in order to call him/her a sad ******* who has nothing better to do...

It was a joke in reference to what a sad ******* the person in question is.

Yeah, it was something to do with old Joomla software, so we weren't the only site...our software has now been updated so we should be fine now.

if you're gonna hack into a website for fun, at least make the message something really offensive and especially insultive. How imcompitent of them.

EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING.

Wait - maybe we shouldn't say this.

Anyways, I'm glad it's fixed now. I had a heart attack when I found out what happened.

OMG!!! I cannot believe that something like that really happened!!
Just a few minutes before I´ve tried to enter the site "Michael Jackson Europe" because I´m also a member of that forum.
But it wasn´t possible to enter there!! It´s completely destroyed!!!!!

Why are there some stupid people out there and destroy all things??? Don´t they have got any other things to do?? Maybe they just felt boring!!!:whatever:

Anyway: I´m very happy that "Maximum Jackson" has got such a good firewall to protect itself from hackers!!!:friends::give_flowers:

Two questions...

How can a site have a firewall?
And what do you mean by a bomb?

Killer Queen

^^ Yes, we know who did it. But let's not dwell on it now, it was a week ago now and it hasn't happened since. :no2: Which is a good thing. :)
