Akon goes radio with the LIVE105.3 team backstage at the Grammys. Here is the transcript relating directly to Michael Jackson. He mentions the tribute to Michael and T25, along with Mike's NEW album:)
Hosts: Why aren't you performing at the Grammys?
Akon: Well actually they're putting this big tribute for Mike together. If it comes together then ill be performing for that.
Hosts: Oh really?
Akon: Yeah.
Hosts: Ok. Wait, you did a song with him didn't you?
Akon: Yeah. For his tribute album. And im pretty much, you know doing the majority of his new album as well.
Hosts: Wow. Is that being done here in the states or, is that right?
Akon: Well, depends, where ever we decide to do it you know whatever Mike's feelin'. We might fly off to Aruba for that day and do a record and fly back. That's how he moves, yeah.

all welcome. i really hate the fact that radio hosts are so dumb they do not ask detailed questions.
when is it being released?
whens the first single?
how many songs are finished?
is he going to perform?
tell us about "hold my hand"
do u think it will be a success?
whats it like listening to MJ record vocals in the studio?
there is a whole list of interesting things they NEVER ask!

^^ True!
How do people feel about that quote....
And im pretty much, you know doing the majority of his new album as well
I'm slightly worried about getting a 'flavour of the month album' rather than one that will stand the test of time???

Akons album has been selling millions of copies for 3 years. He prides himself on creating album that last, and not being required to put out a new one every year to stay relevant. I think he knows MJ aint no small time cookie. Mike has control of his own project. These people are basically there for brainstorming and helping. I would imagine MJ runs the show.

I hope your right Damien. My 'worry' is that it become what Invincible did and is mainly an album that Michael sings on and not a Michael Jackson album.
Too many cooks and all that. I've said millions of times that Mike's best songs are the ones he creates.
I struggle to see what newbies can show a man that has been in the business over 30 years and has sold that many albums.
