Janet Jackson: MJ not ready for Jackson 5 reunion
22/01/2008
http://www.channel4.com/music/media/J/janetjackson150.jpg Janet Jackson has cast doubt on the rumoured Jackson 5 reunion, by suggesting that brother Michael Jackson isn't ready to go back to singing in a group.
Speculation mounted in November when Celebrity Big Brother star Jermaine Jackson said that "Michael will be involved" in the planned reunion.
However, Janet doesn't think her brother is ready for it yet: "I know it's been kind of tough for Mike. Maybe he just wants to continue to be a solo artist and if that's what he wants, you have to respect his wishes.
"But what an impact a reunion would have on the world. I'd be the first in line to buy a ticket."
Reports have also emerged that Michael is in talks to do a solo residency at London's O2 Arena this year.
Killer Queen 23rd January 2008, 01:10 PM Bleh...one Jackson says he wants to do it, another Jackson says he doesn't. Who do you believe, if anyone!
Personally I just want him to do one more solo tour.
Jessy 31st January 2008, 12:37 PM Surprise, surprise!
Jack Is Dangerous 31st January 2008, 07:42 PM No Jackson 5 Reunion please, maybe after his new album, a few years down the line.
Michael needs to concentrate on his solo path :)
Killer Queen 31st January 2008, 11:51 PM I mean when you think about it really, nobody gives a monkey's about the other Jackson brothers, music wise anyway. Everyone paying to see a new Jacksons show would be paying to see Michael and not the others.
Pompous Git 31st January 2008, 11:58 PM ^^^LOL! That is true - saw that with MSG as amazing as it was to see them all together! I only heard 'Michael! Michael!' start to finish!
Killer Queen 1st February 2008, 01:11 AM Well yeah, exactly.
You're not exactly going to get people at a Jacksons reunion concert screaming "Jermaine! Jermaine! We loooove you!!"
Not very likely anyway.
Matt 2nd February 2008, 10:31 PM Why would MJ want to reunite with his brothers when his return solo career has just begun. Possibly later down the line, but certainly not now.
On the other hand, it would be good to see them all back together again :D
Cinnamon234 3rd February 2008, 08:10 PM A J5 reunion tour aint happening (well not anytime soon anyway).
funkkid 7th February 2008, 12:02 AM i want a solo album and maybe then a j5 reunion
Jessy 7th February 2008, 12:45 AM They can keep their crappy j5 reunion, thanks!
Marni 7th February 2008, 01:03 AM Haha. People seriously would go to see Michael, not the others. They are great together, but I just can't see it happening.
ennazus 7th February 2008, 03:41 AM I'm a huge fan of the Jackson 5 and Jacksons, but I don't think a full concert will be great. Like what most fans here said, most of the people are paying to see Michael Jackson and his brothers, not as a group.
If it is a reunion like MSG 2001, why not? Just a short set is great.
sammichael 12th February 2008, 08:39 PM I'm not gonna believe anything until it has been confirmed by Ramone or it is on the news etc

‘I am the one coordinating Jackson 5 reunion’: Janet Jackson
Posted March 1st, 2008 by Nina Sahu
Washington, Mar 1 : Janet Jackson insists that she’s the one encouraging her siblings to go ahead with the plans of a Jackson 5 reunion tour.
The singer slammed reports that she’s shunning the comeback tour, saying that it’s her who is urging the rest of the Jackson gang for the gig.
The R&B star was reportedly refusing to be a part of the group's planned world tour, which her older brother Jermaine Jackson is trying to organise.
However, she insisted that she’d love to hit the road with her family, but that would be possible of the rest of the Jackson gang would agree to the tour.
She told Larry King that she’d be pleased to join the legendary band again in their comeback gig.
"I would love to (tour with them). I get my brothers on the phone all the time. I'm the biggest fan of the Jacksons, The Jackson 5,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
“I have conference calls all the time pushing them to do a huge tour. I tell them if they did, I would love to open for them. I have never opened for anyone. My very first tour, I was the headline. It was a nation(wide) tour. I never opened for anyone. It would be an honour,” she added.
When asked about which one of her siblings is trying to abstain from the comeback tour, Janet refused to take Michael’s name.
"They would love to, but one of them is on the fence. You have to respect that. He's worked very hard at his solo career. I don't know. Maybe he'll come around. Still kind of working on him,” she said. (ANI)

For some reason, I think this quote is quite funny! She made MJ sound like some project to work on!
Little Steven 1st March 2008, 03:22 PM I think a small j5 reunion could be a good way of starting his "comeback". There would be slightly less pressure on Mike to do a Jacksons reunion tour. Considering he hasn't toured in 10 years, that's a good thing. It eases him back into the routine a bit more than a full blown solo tour.
He'd have to do some solo stuff on a Jacksons tour anyways.
Killer Queen 1st March 2008, 03:37 PM Are you out of your mind Stevo? Yeah I know, it's your opinion, but I'm surprised by it, that's all! ;) I think totally the opposite myself, but that's just me.

I really don't know what to think about that.
I would be glad to see them anyway. As I would love to see Michael's solo work.
Anyway... i don't know.
